I made this for a friend I worked with for her going away gift...she moved onward and upward to a better (&better paying) job. She loved it and everyone at the office party was wowwed! I made a similar style quilt for my mother about 4 years ago, in 9 different purple prints. After making this one, I realize why I hadn't done this style in so long...easy to put the top together, but major pain to quilt it with a regular sewing machine! Time for a long-arm quilter...as soon as I can afford it...hahahaaa!! yeah, so not anytime soon... :-P

I hope you enjoy it...

ohhh....i've always wanted to make a bargello quilt. Had I stayed with quilting, I'm pretty sure that would've been my next one. That or a chenille quilt. And I know what you're talking about, trying to quilt on a regular sewing machine...so frustrating!! Kudos to a gorgeously put together bargello!

Beautiful! I'd love to see a picture of the purple one! I can see how this would be a pain to machine quilt!

your quilts are beautiful! I'm glad that folks are still making them, I remember the women of my family getting together on winter days and quilting all day long, brings back memories!
